What should I be doing with my marketing in 2022?

Hello to you from 2022! I have had a lovely break, a chance to relax, refresh and reassess. Essie Media is going into its 6th year this year and I have taken some time to look at my own marketing practices and the strengths and weaknesses.

In our busy working lives we need to make things easier for ourselves, and while Marketing should be high on your priority list it should never be laborious or something you dread.

So what to do in 2022?

Marketing Strategy

You don’t have to be a big corporate business to have some strategy in your life. Simply identifying your ideal customer, how to reach them and some steps to get there can be enough. I like to call strategy ‘having a plan’ and having a plan makes the day to day running of your business so much easier. It’s less reactive and means you don’t need to leave marketing to the last minute or feel like its a bind.

Show your website some love

Websites should be updated frequently. These days your website is as vital to your business development as your social media. In fact, I have harped on about this for much of 2021, your website is one of the only online platforms YOU ACTUALLY OWN, so show it a bit more love! Many people forget that their website plays a vital role in their marketing plan. Even the smallest of text updates help to furnish search engines with new content, making your website more easy to find by searchers.

Social Media engagement

Have you noticed that it is getting harder and harder to get the amazing stats we use to get on social platforms? That’s because the social media world is getting more saturated, people are getting more picky about the content they consume and the social media corporations favour video over the traditional forms of content. With this in mind its never been a more important time to plan in time for engagement. Never mind building your follower numbers further, get engaging with the ones that are already there. Post regularly, create GREAT content and TALK to your audience. I promise you won’t regret it.
