Has social engagement changed through Covid?
Post times for social media plays a major part in engagement, we all know that. You want to maximise your content, your reach and engagement with minimal effort…ideally.
When I first meet a new client I stress the point of reading their stats, finding out what makes their audience tick and posting when their audience is online.
BC (before Covid) posting times across social clients saw increases in activity at key times, namely; breakfast time (pre 9am) and evening time. A couple of spikes in the day here and there but a tail off after 9pm.
Since lockdown 1 in March stats have found that the best times to post have shifted somewhat as more aspects of work and life move online-first and we all juggle homeschooling, home working and life at home.
According to Sprout Social Currently, the best times to post on Facebook are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10–11 a.m. In fact, every day at 11 a.m. was a slight peak compared to the rest of the day.
Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 11 a.m. and Tuesday at 2 p.m. are now the best times to post on Instagram.
As the uncertainty of our world continues our marketing and social media strategy as a small business needs to be fluid and adaptable. But even with this in mind its even more important to stay true to who you are. To your story. To create meaningful content that your audience wants alongside your sales objectives.
